Auditions for "Deathtrap"

Carrollwood Cultural Center and show director Chris Holcom will hold auditions for the classic thriller Deathtrap by Ira Levin. Living comfortably in his charming Connecticut home, Sidney Bruhl, a writer of Broadway thrillers, struggles to overcome a dry spell resulting in a string of failures and a shortage of funds. A possible break in his fortune occurs when he receives a script from a student in the seminar he has been conducting at a nearby college. Sidney’s plan, devised with his wife’s help, is to offer collaboration to the student for co-credit. Or is it? Deathtrap provides twists and turns of a devilish cleverness and offers hilariously sudden shocks so abundant it will leave you spellbound until the very last moment. IMPORTANT PRODUCTION DATES: Auditions: June 9 at 6-8 p.m. June 10 at 6-8 p.m. Possible Callbacks: June 11, 6-8 p.m. Please be prepared to cold-read scenes from the script. Rehearsals: Rehearsals will begin mid-August and run Monday through Thursday, 6:30-9 p.m. Rehearsal times during tech week will include Saturday and Sunday and possibly run later.
