Music@BCM: Caysen Hammonds & Family

Behringer-Crawford Museum is thrilled to announce the upcoming Music@BCM concert featuring Cayson Hammonds & Family on Thursday, June 27, at 7 p.m. This special evening will bring together the musical talents of Nashville singer/songwriter Shawn Hammonds, his wife, Caralyn Hammonds, and their 11-year-old son, Caysen Hammonds. The band includes bass player Jason Hale, drummer Dina Johnson, and lead guitarist Jamie Jarrel, all performing together for the first time, to deliver an unforgettable evening of classic country and honky tonk by legendary artists such as Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, and George Jones.   Shawn Hammonds is originally from Newport, KY, and has deep roots in Northern Kentucky, visiting family often in Taylor Mill. He has been a staple in the Nashville music scene since 1992, writing songs and performing regularly. His songwriting prowess includes cuts by Gene Watson and Trick Pony.   Caralyn Hammonds hails from Grant County, KY, and met Shawn in Nashville in 1996. The couple married in 1999 and has been making music together ever since.   Cayson Hammonds, at just 11 years old, is the latest in four generations of Hammonds musicians. He finds inspiration in legendary country artists, especially Johnny Cash; his favorite. Cayson started performing at six and plays regularly with his family and his own Honky Tonk Daycare Band.
